Seed stock production in American Aberdeen (Lowline) is a valuable and tax deductible business. The
market should hold or improve as they gain recognition for their true value. They do not
have the management or market problems of some other exotics because they are easy to
handle and produce a product in constant demand. Right size cuts of great, consistent beef
at less cost to the producer.
SMALL ACREAGE OWNERS:
In addition to all of the above, the small acreage owner may now turn small areas to
better use because of the grass efficiency and higher stocking rate, and the advantages of
premium prices within the seed stock market because of the limited availability of
American Aberdeen (Lowline).
4H & YOUNG GROWERS:
The size and temperament of these animals make them ideal for people who cannot or
prefer not to deal with larger animals. They are a great alternative to sheep and swine,
where size of the animal is a factor for any reason. Our animals are genetically selected
to be of high quality, ideally proportioned and consistent.
These little guys are a perfect alternative for filling the void of the shifting, and often fleeting,
exotic market. Beef and beef seedstock are here to stay.
Modern bio-technology and American Aberdeen (Lowline) may make dairying more profitable. Calves can be
produced (up to 2 at a time) that have more value, and you may still have replacement
heifers if you like.
Easy birthing American Aberdeen (Lowline) or crossbreeds would be ideal for first calf heifers. You will
also be able to breed for better genetics.
Most full sized cows are capable of carrying two American Aberdeen (Lowline). Not only are the calves
more valuable, but they provide a higher production rate.
Lowline Angus are very efficient feed converters. They do well on grass alone and
allow a higher stocking rate. These animals produce a high percentage of quality cuts in
proportion to their size, and grade choice or better on grass alone.
Embryo transfer allows you to make the most efficient use of your breeding
.you may flush your heifer for valuable embryos (up to 30/year) for sale or
implant them into surrogate cattle. Bulls may be collected for valuable semen. There will
be a continuing breeders market for these animals.
The transfer of embryos is proven technology and has been in place for a variety of
animals, including humans, for a number of years. The splitting and sexing of embryos and
the aspiration of follicles is more recent, but also a proven technique. All our embryos
are carefully collected and graded; only from the best selection of genetics. We currently
have embryos, semen and pregnant surrogates for sale.
